Forget the Bunny Slippers. These stories aren't for children. Come to Storyteller.net@Borders: an event of storytelling for adults and teens! With storytellers and spoken word artists from around the state of Arizona (and sometimes the rest of the world), you get an hour of some of the best world tales and mature personal stories, stories that are told and not read. Stop by on your way to wherever you are going. There is no charge for the 60 minute performance held at the Borders Store at 10100 W McDowell Road in Avondale and begins at 7:00PM. This is not an open microphone night.
Adult Stories??
By adults stories, we do not mean "blue" or full of adult language. We often have children in the audience from ages 10 up, but our target audience is material for adults and mature teens. We urge parents who bring young ones to be the best judge of their child's maturity. Our tag line is, "Leave the Bunny Slippers at Home." Being in the middle of a Borders store does not allow us to be too over-the-edge in the materials. We tend to present world folktales in their original forms- nothing that you would want to make an animated feature out of. Many of our tellers share personal history tales that consist of adult situations in love, life and careers
